Your current plan is a 12-month PlayStation Plus Essential subscription. You purchased the plan 6 months ago on PlayStation Store for the standard price of $79.99*. You have half a year until your next payment date.
You decide you want to upgrade your membership plan to PlayStation Plus Premium. The standard price for Premium is $159.99 a year.
The upgrade fee is calculated by subtracting the Essential price from the Premium price:
$159.99 - $79.99 = $80.
The upgrade fee is then divided by how much of the subscription remains until the next scheduled payment date. In this case, there is half a year remaining, so $80 / 2 = $40 charge.

I have a subscription voucher code that I would like to redeem. PlayStation Now was merged with PlayStation Plus, so what will happen if I try to redeem my voucher code?
When you enter the voucher code, the pre-paid subscription period will be converted to an amount of time (of equivalent value) based on your current PlayStation Plus subscription membership plan. Visit the voucher guide below for more information.
If you are currently subscribed to PlayStation Plus, the voucher code will give you a specific amount of time towards your current PlayStation Plus membership plan. If you wish to apply the voucher code to a different membership plan option, you will need to change your subscription plan prior to redeeming the voucher code.
I used to be a PlayStation Now member and was moved into PlayStation Plus. How do I access my old saved game progress?
As a PlayStation Plus Premium member, you have access to the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog. For any games you previously downloaded with your PlayStation Now membership, those games and the save progress from those games are stored locally on your console. Many of the downloadable games from PlayStation Now have carried over to the Game Catalog in PlayStation Plus, so you can continue to play those games like before.
Most streaming games from PlayStation Now have carried over to the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog in PlayStation Plus Premium, and you can still access the streaming versions of those games via the console interface (or PC App) to continue playing where you left off. To transfer your progress from a streamed game to a downloaded game, please visit the guide below.
