What should you do first in Street Fighter 6?

For the first time in its history, Street Fighter 6 offers up a full story-driven single-player campaign.

Start with World Tour mode

World Tour is the perfect place for new and veteran players to start their Street Fighter 6 journey.

After creating a fighter, learning basic movement controls and meeting Luke (your first of many Masters), you’ll drop into New York-inspired Metro City armed with Luke’s fighting style and special moves. Eventually, you’ll become a true World Warrior as you travel the globe and meet dozens of new characters on your journey.

Create your own fighter

Street Fighter 6 has an incredibly deep character creator. Choose from a range of presets, use the randomizer or go to town creating your own fighter. There’s a vast array of options that let you go as sensible – or as wild – as you like.

The choices you make regarding the size and shape of your character have real consequences - creating long arms for example can benefit your battles in World Tour by giving you better reach to your opponent..

You can even spend time creating your character in the game demo and import it to the main game when you’re ready.

Explore Metro City

Metro City is full of passers-by to battle, but you’ll want to find and meet legendary Street Fighter characters to learn new styles and special moves. Give your Masters gifts to build your relationships with them and gain benefits such as being able to call them into battle if you need a helping hand.

Once you’ve met various Masters around the city, you can use their moves to build your own unique set of basic and special attacks. Use them to further progress in World Tour mode, or take your fight – and your avatar - online in Battle Hub to K.O. other players around the world.

Masters will also give you special Master Actions, moves that can be used during exploration to reach new areas, destroy objects and even avoid confrontations.

Side-quests and minigames

Around Metro City you’ll find a host of fun side quests and minigames to help practice your fighting moves.

Diverse challenges such as Basketball Parry, Pizza Making, Board Breaking and Car Bashing get progressively more difficult, so if you want to perfect them you’ll need to master the skills at your disposal.

Meet the new generation of World Warriors as you play through the World Tour, where you’ll get to learn their styles and discover their backstories.

Luke

A contractor for a PMC, Luke uses his elite military background to teach mixed martial arts. His days off are spent eating junk food, playing video games and fighting, but make no mistake — Luke plays to win.

Jamie

This self-styled Chinatown peacekeeper aspires to the example set by Yun and Yang, the Twin Dragons. An expert dancer, Jamie places justice and friendship above all else, defending his town with martial skill.

Kimberly

Uninvited student to Guy, the 39th successor to Bushinryu. Kimberly had an ordinary upbringing, but she's a genuine prodigy who graduated college early...and now wants to be a ninja. Loves '80s pop culture.

Ryu

Ever training, this martial artist seeks true strength. Well-mannered and sincere, Ryu travels the globe in search of worthy opponents. Having overcome the Satsui no Hado, he now seeks yet greater heights.

Chun-Li

A former high-kicking ICPO agent, Chun-Li looks after Li-Fen, a victim of the Black Moon Incident. With Shadaloo sundered, she now runs kung fu classes and has become a well-loved member of the local community.

Guile

A US Air Force pilot who fights for his country, Guile succeeded in dismantling Shadaloo and avenging his friend Charlie. He enjoys living the family man life, but new battlefields await him.

Ken

Former US National Fighting Champ, and ex-VP of the Masters Foundation. Accusations of orchestrating a criminal plot have forced Ken to abandon his family and business and go into hiding.

E.Honda

A sumo wrestler looking to bring the sport worldwide, E. Honda has the skills of a yokozuna, but his constant globetrotting has prevented his promotion. Also an expert chef renowned for mouth-watering chanko stew.

Juri

This sadistic thrill-seeker enjoys the strife and suffering of others, taking immense joy in obliterating her foes. Without revenge against M. Bison as a motivator, she whiles away her time in a gloomy haze.

Dhalsim

A monk and yoga master from India who has served as a guide for countless suffering souls. Prefers to avoid conflict when possible, but his innate hatred of evil compels him to dispense stern justice.

Blanka

A kind-hearted defender of nature, Blanka has become an adventure tour guide, confident his intimate knowledge of the jungle will serve as a springboard to fame — and a comfortable life for his beloved mother.

Lily

A descendant of the Thunderfoot tribe, Lily speaks with the spirits of nature, trusting in their guidance as she travels the globe. Don't judge a book by its cover - her small stature conceals truly titanic power.

Zangief

A colossal wrestler nicknamed the Red Cyclone, Zangief is dedicated to physical improvement and instructing his students.

Cammy

Member of British special forces unit Delta Red. Distinguished herself in the operation against Shadaloo, with which she shares a fated connection. Hyper-competent but somewhat moody. Currently working at HQ.

Marisa

An up-and-coming jewelry designer from Italy who claims ancestry to ancient Greek warriors. As a child, she was inspired by a vision of the Colosseum in its prime. Today, she seeks glory with a smile—and an eye for beauty.

JP

Head of an international NGO responsible for many successful investment projects, and the man behind Nayshall's present prosperity. Has a beloved cat named Cybele.

Which is the best Street Fighter 6 character for beginners in battle modes?

While there's no 'best' character, there are guides and tutorials which can quickly help you find your own unique style.

Street Fighter 6 categorises each character by the following criteria:

Type: Standard, Speed, Tricky, Power.
Effective Range: Close-Range, Mid-Range, Long-Range.
Ease of Use: Easy, Normal, Hard.

In Fighting Ground, there’s a character guide and tutorial for each character. Get to know their move sets and practice special moves before taking to the arena.

Try out all characters and get a feel for which ones complement your style of play. Street Fighter is all about weighing up the pros and cons of each fighter, and finding which blend works best for you.

Marisa

What control types does Street Fighter 6 offer?

Classic: This is the classic six-button setup that many remember from previous Street Fighter games.
Modern: Provides a gateway entry to the series for those familiar with video games but who might not have much experience with fighting games.
Dynamic: Designed for the most beginner of players to button-mash their way to victory.

What are the differences between Modern, Dynamic and Classic controls in Street Fighter 6?

Modern Controls allow you to perform special attacks with simple button combinations and are designed for players who want to fight without memorizing and practising special move button combinations first.

Dynamic Controls is a great control type to use when you have friends and family over for a quick, casual game, or want to learn the basics of a character for the first time.

Classic Controls use the six-button layout and command inputs that will be instantly familiar to fans of previous Street Fighter games.

Are the three control types available in all Street Fighter 6 modes?

The Dynamic control type is limited to offline play in certain modes of Fighting Ground. Classic and Modern can be used in all modes of Fighting Ground, as well as World Tour.

How do I get better at using more advanced controls in Street Fighter 6?

If you’re struggling to execute some of the more complicated Special move commands, head to training mode or Character Guides in Fighting Ground. Here, you can enable ‘Input History Display’ in the settings and you’ll see a live feed of button presses to help you understand your movement input.

Arcade mode

You can take on computer-controlled opponents in the classic Arcade mode. Discover more of each character’s story, told from their unique perspectives, and win every bout to unlock special illustrations.

Multiplayer features

Street Fighter 6 offers the series’ richest multiplayer experience, with a wide array of brand new versus battle types. Join up with friends or CPU players in Team Battles, or take on Extreme battles that offer a variety of special gimmicks. Create custom rules for victory, destroy buff-granting drones, or try to avoid being knocked down by a rampaging bull.

Join Clubs

As well as being a place to battle other player-created characters and participate in online matches and events, the Battle Hub is where you can form Clubs with friends and like-minded players. Show your Club colours by creating a custom emblem and applying it to your avatar’s outfits.

Retro games

The Battle Hub is also home to arcade cabinets featuring a variety of retro Capcom coin-op classics, recreated in full and playable at no additional cost*. Games you could encounter include Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Final Fight, Captain Commando and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.

*Retro games available to play to be scheduled and rotated in and out.

Battle damage

If you’ve ever thought that Street Fighter’s characters were too resilient, there’s now the option to toggle visible battle damage – a first for the series. Watch as fighters’ faces, bodies and clothing become increasingly battered and marked as they take more punishment during bouts.

Future content

Street Fighter’s 6 character selection will continue to grow with the Year 1 Character Pass. New characters confirmed for year one include returning faces Ed, Akuma and Rashid, plus all-new fighter A.K.I.
