WeTeach_CS: Introduction to Programming in PythonPr

Curriculum: Block and text-based Python intro programming materials to increase content knowledge and concept understanding by completing challenges and projects.

  • Standards Alignment: Partial coverage of algorithms and programming CSTA standards.
  • Curriculum Features: PPTs, unit problems, unit assessments are self graded, and challenge problems via Canvas are all provided. Modeling is included to help teachers integrate CS concepts.

Grades: 6-10

PD: Five-day PD to help teachers integrate CS concepts that starts with block-based programming, and then transitions into texted based coding in Python. During PD, teachers are learners trying to acquire CS concepts such as control structure, function, data structure, and writing programs in Python.

  • Ongoing Support: Slack for communication and support during/after PD; follow-up content and implementation support available; participants can request a 1:1 session.
  • Geographic Limits: None

Cost: Workshop costs are $600 per teacher for a three day workshop and $1000 per teacher for a five day workshop.
