How to report a message on PSN

You should report a message if it breaks the PlayStation™Network Code of Conduct.

  1. Press the PS button to go to the control center and select Game Base.
  2. Go to the Messages, highlight the message, press the options button, and then select Report.
  3. You can choose to block the user at the end of the report.

How to report a profile on PSN

You should report a player’s profile if their Real Name, online ID, About Me, or Profile Picture breaks the PlayStation Network Code of Conduct.

  1. Search for the player’s profile.
  2. Select … (More) > Report and the reason for your report.

How to report a voice chat on PS5 consoles

Voice Chat reporting is supported only on PS5 consoles.

  1. Press the PS button to go to the control center and select the voice chat card where the conversation took place.
  2. Select ... (More) > Report and follow the on-screen instructions.

You're able to report a 20-second clip of the last 5 minutes of talking. Select I'm Unsure if you don't know who was talking at the time.

  • The voice chat feature does not actively monitor or record your conversations. It is strictly reserved for reporting online abuse or harassment.
  • Turning off voice data collection does not affect your ability to report or be reported by other players over voice chat. If you allow it, voice data collection helps Sony Interactive Entertainment to improve voice features such as chat transcription and voice input.
  • To enable or disable voice collection, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy > Voice Data Collection.

What kind of content can I report?

Always report the specific piece of content you think breaches the Code of Conduct. You can also block players to prevent further interactions.

When content has been shared within a game, such as in-game chat or messages, please use the games’ reporting function.

What happens when I make a report?

Moderators review reports and decide whether the content reported breaches the Code of Conduct. If it does, we remove the content and take appropriate action against the player who shared it.

You receive notifications when a report is submitted, reviewed, and when an action is decided.

False reporting is a breach of the Code of Conduct and may result in a temporary or permanent suspension of your account.
