Curriculum: “Growing with KIBO” offers 60 hours of lessons in hands-on coding, CT, engineering, and collaboration for PreK-2 with the screen-free KIBO robot kit

  • Standards Alignment: Alignment to CSTA standards for K-2 and partial 3-5, ISTE student indicators, and NGSS K-2 engineering standards. Alignment to many state standards.
  • Curriculum Features: Core curriculum provides 60 sequenced, 1-hour lesson plans spanning PreK-2. SEL via group work and collaboration are a focus.

Grades: PK-3

PD: PD options range from 1-hour introductory web conferences to two-day group workshops. Follow-up via web conference. Teachers learn pedagogy of creative technology in early childhood. Most time is spent hands-on with KIBO parts, programming, and model activities.

  • Ongoing Support: Peer resource website with free lessons; social media sharing.
  • Geographic Limits: None for online workshops; US only for in-person workshops

Cost: PD options include free video lessons, 1-hour intro web conference at $100/seat, or group workshops (prices vary). Curriculum inclued in robot packages.
