Certified Robotics Training
Curriculum: Over 20 free, research-based curricula for a variety of robotics platforms (LEGO, VEX, REV, Arduino, Virtual), coding languages, and grade levels.
- Standards Alignment: Robotics and coding activities aligned to CSTA, NGSS, CCSS-Math, CSP Framework, CC English and Language Arts, ISTE, ITEEA Standards.
- Curriculum Features: All units are student-facing, include real-world connection, artifact collection, CYU’s, auto-graded quizzes, and a summative challenge with rubric.
- Programming Language(s): Scratch, C/C++. Python
Grades: 3-12
PD: 36 professional development hours. Online training includes five 2-hour sessions plus independent learning. Onsite training includes 4.5 consecutive days. Enables teachers to effectively use robotics to teach CS-STEM and Computational Thinking.
- Ongoing Support: Free curriculum and classroom management through CS-STEM Network; free phone and email support; access to robotics educator community channels.
- Geographic Limits: Online offered internationally. Onsite offered in Pittsburgh, PA.
Cost: Free curriculum. Online PD costs $599 per teacher and requires access to robotics kit. Onsite PD costs $1099 and includes use of robotics kit.
